I first started writing years ago when I watched how the news media controlled what we see and know about and what happened when they didn’t. I realized that often if the news didn’t cover an event, it may as well have not occurred.
I decided I wanted to be in that chair, so to speak. I wanted to be a journalist and write about things.
I loved it. I wrote for big and little papers, then online publications, and developed these online blog sites. It’s a ton of fun, and as a “generalist,” I get to write about many different topics or events. And it all requires doing intensive research, of course.
Then, something happened that put my newspaper/journalist career on hold for several years. I wrote a book. Now, if you know me, I always said I never wanted to or planned to write a book. Books are too complicated and take too long to write. I mean, some people take years to complete a book. Good grief. I don’t have that kind of patience.
Well….we know how that turned out. I now have written and published three and a half books. All are traditionally published, thank you.
Housewife Assassin-The Woman Who Tried To Kill President Ford-Non-fiction-It’s about Sara Jane Moore, the woman who shot at Pres. Ford in San Francisco in 1975
San Francisco Values-Common Ground For Getting America Back On Track-(With Rick Kaplowitz)-About how wonderful San Francisco is and what great values we share with the country
Regina of Warsaw-Love, Loss and Liberation-Historical fiction based on my grandmother’s life as she fled Eastern Europe at the turn of the 20th century and the anti-Semitic violence
Revenge of the Sisters- A Tale of Retribution. It is the story of three sisters and the things that happened to them in high school that affected their career futures and how they got even.
I’m done. It’s time to turn the page. I never thought I’d be an author. But I did, and I’m proud of my work. However, as I’m telling my friends, family, and writing buddies, I do not have another book in me at this time. Unless lightning strikes and all of a sudden I come up with a book that must be written, I’m working hard to get back into paid freelancing.
I’m a master researcher. I teach Internet research skills with a program I developed called Super Sleuthing. I’ve delivered this class all over the country. I love researching, interviewing, and writing articles, blog posts, or web content. I have excellent credentials and have a lot to offer the industry.
So, here is my message to you, dear readers: I’m looking for paid freelancing opportunities. You can see some of my work here: Truthdig.com. If you know of anyone who needs a writer, let me know. If you look me up online, you will see I write about and have been published on a wide range of topics. If you don’t need a physician to write about health, I can do it. If you don’t need an attorney to write about crime, I’m your woman.
Let me know.
